Lived Experience: I'm a 64-year-old personal trainer, movement coach, and martial artist who's been in the trenches. Two heart attacks. Lung surgery three decades ago. Broken bones from years of martial arts. I've rebuilt my body and optimized my health through evidence, not wishful thinking. Every protocol, every product, every practice shared here has been tested against reality—mine and that of my clients.
Every intervention on this site meets one criterion: Does it genuinely improve quality of life? Not clicks. Not hype. Results that matter when you're 64, or 74, or 84—and still showing up strong.

One of the best ways to stay in the game is never get out; downtime due to injuries or rehab can severely limit quality of life.
One of the prime goals for clients of HPL is not just to train smart and relatively risk-free, but also to injury-proof themselves as much as possible.
CONSISTENCY/VARIETY OVER INTENSITY
Mobility, balance, agility and flexibility; all these facets are as important to high level functioning as strength, speed and endurance. Our clients are screened with the purpose of strengthening deficient areas of physical function, and reinforcing those that are currently strong.
YOUR TRAINING BE AS UNIQUE AS YOUR PERSONALITY
The development of a personalized training program with the goal of upgrading or maintaining physical function needs to be creative and evidence-based.
